Lori West-Louis is an important key for team of HCAS. She was asked to join HCAS in 2008 and has since served as a liaison between Haiti Children’s Home and HCAS. Lori has lived in Haiti since 2007 and currently is the volunteer-missionary administrator, nurse and “house mama” at Haiti Children’s Home.
In 2002, following a friends return from a trip to Haiti Children’s Home, Lori West Louis began meeting adoptive families and many of the people serving on the board of HCAS. In 2006, Lori went to Haiti for two months and fell in love with the country and its people. In 2007 she returned to volunteer at Haiti Children’s Home for 1 year and ended up staying on. Lori met her husband Sadrack in Haiti and they were married in 2011.
Lori became the Medical Program Coordinator in January 2012. She oversees the community health and nutrition programs, medical care of the children at HCH and supervises volunteer and American nursing staff.
They continue to live in Haiti and, alongside the FONSOPED and HCAS Boards, oversee the administration and management of Haiti Children’s Home.
Lori and her family are required to raise their own support to live and serve in Haiti at Haiti Children’s Home. They consider it a privilege to care for the children and serve the HCH community. They can’t begin to describe their thankfulness and appreciation for the prayer of supporters along the way. They are also encouraged to continue to grow their support base, spiritually and financially, as currently, they operate at only 50% support of their family’s need.
